When We Are Closed

For emergencies outside normal working hours (after 18.30 weekdays and at any time on weekends or bank holidays) you will be treated by the Out of Hours Emergency Service provided by the Local Health Board.

Please ring the surgery as normal on 01267 236616 and you will automatically be connected to this service.

As of the 16th January 2012 the Out Of Hours service will have electronic access to your Individual Health Record (IHR).

What is the Individual Health Record?

The Individual Health Record (IHR) is a summary of your GP record, which will let GPs and nurses working in your local Out of Hours Service see some basic information about your medical history.

Without this essential information the medical staff providing care when your GP surgery is closed at evenings and weekends, only know what you tell them. Yet, when you are unwell it's sometimes easy to forget details of any medication or allergies.

Please click here to read an information leaflet.

Out-of-hours services are generally busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.

In a genuine emergency you should call 999. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
